July 20, 2024

New Delhi. Kapil Dev’s persistent efforts have finally paid off. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has extended a helping hand to former cricketer Anshuman Gaekwad, who is battling cancer. BCCI Secretary Jay Shah has sanctioned an amount of Rs 1 crore to help Gaekwad fight his disease. Jay Shah directed the BCCI to immediately release financial assistance of Rs 1 crore to Anshuman Gaekwad, who is battling cancer. Shah also spoke to Gaekwad’s family and understood their current situation and assured them of all possible help.

Kapil Dev’s efforts helped

It is worth noting that World Cup winning captain Kapil Dev had appealed to BCCI for help on behalf of his fellow cricketer Anshuman Gaikwad, who is suffering from blood cancer. 71-year-old Gaikwad has been undergoing treatment at King’s College Hospital in London for the last one year. Apart from seeking help from BCCI, Kapil Dev had also pledged to donate his pension for Gaikwad’s treatment. Now BCCI has accepted Kapil Dev’s appeal.
