New Delhi. Residents of Delhi-NCR woke up to a humid Monday morning. However, by afternoon, the weather changed and dark clouds engulfed the region, bringing about a drizzle. Heavy rains lashed parts of east Delhi and Noida, while other areas like Kalindi Kunj and Okhla Bird Sanctuary received nothing more than a few drizzles. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of heavy rains in the coming hours, predicting rains in Delhi, central Delhi, east Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida, Faridabad and Gurugram. The spell of rain is expected to continue in some areas for the next 48 hours. According to the IMD, the minimum temperature in Delhi on Monday morning was recorded at 29.2 degrees Celsius, 2 degrees above normal. The humidity level was reported to be at a high of 84% at 8:30 am, indicating extremely humid conditions.

Forecast for next 48 hours
The IMD has warned that the next 48 hours may be challenging for Delhi-NCR. The department has forecast generally cloudy sky and light to moderate rain with thunderstorms. The maximum temperature in Delhi-NCR is expected to be around 36 degrees Celsius in these two days. No rain was recorded in Delhi in the last 24 hours.
Heavy rain alert in Mumbai
Heavy rains continued in Mumbai for the second consecutive day on Monday, affecting local train services between Kalyan and Thakurli stations during peak hours on the Central Railway network. Some areas recorded up to 34 mm of rain in just one hour in the morning. Along with the warning of heavy rains, a forecast of high tide has also been issued in Mumbai and surrounding areas. Three teams of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) have been deployed to handle the situation.
