New Delhi. CBI has finally filed a chargesheet against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in Rouse Avenue Court on Monday. This is a big action by CBI against Arvind Kejriwal before the decision of Delhi High Court. If Kejriwal gets bail today, then the chargesheet will be heard further in the lower court, but if it is not granted, then CBI and Sanghvi will present their arguments in the court based on this.
Let us tell you that till now Kejriwal’s lawyer Abhishek Manu Singhvi used to argue that the CBI has arrested his client for insurance. However, the CBI had opposed this.
During the hearing on Arvind Kejriwal’s bail plea, the CBI argued that the investigation of the case is ongoing and they have enough evidence against the Delhi Chief Minister. At the same time, Kejriwal’s lawyer Abhishek Manu Singhvi argued that the investigating agency has no evidence against his client. In such a situation, after filing the charge sheet, the investigating agency has now submitted all the solid evidence in the court.
In such a situation, will Arvind Kejriwal’s case be strong now? If Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal gets bail from Delhi High Court today in the CBI case, then his way to come out of Tihar jail will be clear.
It is noteworthy that on July 25, a Delhi court on Thursday extended the judicial custody of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the money laundering case related to the alleged excise scam. Special Judge Kaveri Baveja extended Kejriwal’s custody till July 31 in the money laundering case being investigated by the Enforcement Directorate, while his judicial custody was extended till August 8 in a corruption case registered by the CBI. The judge also extended the judicial custody of Aam Aadmi Party leader and former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, Bharat Rashtra Samiti leader K Kavita and other accused in the money laundering case till July 31.
The accused were produced before the court through video conference. The Supreme Court had earlier granted interim bail to Kejriwal in the ED case, however, he is still lodged in Tihar jail here as he has not filled the bail bond in the case. He is in judicial custody in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) case.
