Om Birla took a jibe
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Friday, without naming anyone in the House, took a jibe and said, “These days, the story of narrating Mahabharata is more popular here.” He made this comment when during the Question Hour in the House, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Pradeep Purohit referred to an episode of Ramayana while asking a question related to the Ministry of AYUSH. On this, Birla said, “Don’t narrate Mahabharata, ask questions. These days, the story of narrating Mahabharata is more popular here.” The Lok Sabha Speaker did not name anyone, but on last Monday, while participating in the discussion on the budget in the House, Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi had targeted the government by referring to the episode of Mahabharata related to Abhimanyu being trapped in the Chakravyuh.
Sarcastic remark on Rahul Gandhi’s Chakravyuh statement
Rahul Gandhi had accused the central government of trapping India in a Chakravyuh like Abhimanyu and said that the opposition alliance ‘Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance’ (India) will break this Chakravyuh.
