TMC got angry on the talk of division of Bengal.
Trinamool Congress has strongly protested in Parliament over the speculations about the division of West Bengal. TMC MP Samirul Islam raised this issue during Zero Hour in Rajya Sabha and said that BJP MPs and ministers are talking about the division of Bengal. The MP said that those who are plotting the division should stop it. Let us know where this entire controversy started.
Why did the division controversy arise?
In fact, Union Minister and West Bengal BJP President Sukanta Majumdar met PM Modi a few days ago. He said that a proposal has been made to PM Modi that North West Bengal should be included under the Ministry of Development of Northeast Region (DoNER). Majumdar had said that despite being a part of West Bengal, North Bengal shares similarities with the Northeast, so it can be included in the Northeast under the ministry.
Demand for package for North Bengal
TMC MP Samirul Islam in Rajya Sabha said that if the central government really wants to develop North Bengal, then a special package should be given for it. Those who are plotting to divide should stop it. You cannot divide Bengal even by using all your might.
BJP has no such plan- Dilip Ghosh
On the other hand, BJP leader Dilip Ghosh said that his party has no such plans to divide West Bengal. Ghosh claimed that the TMC is hindering the development of the northern districts of the state. The BJP has never advocated dividing West Bengal, nor has it included such a proposal in any manifesto. Ghosh criticized the TMC for betraying the people of North Bengal and opposing the development of the district. (input language)
