India beat Sri Lanka by 32 runs in the second ODI, took a 1-0 lead in the series

New Delhi. The performance of the Indian batsmen was disappointing in the second ODI against Sri Lanka. The target was 241 runs to win, but Team India, captained by Rohit Sharma, collapsed for 208 runs in 42.2 overs. In this way, the Indian team had to face defeat by 32 runs. Although Indian captain Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill had made a great start, but after that Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer and Washington Sundar disappointed. Akshar Patel certainly played an important innings of 44 runs, but wickets kept falling continuously from the other end.

After this defeat, the Indian team is now trailing 1-0 in the three-match ODI series. The first ODI was tied. The third and final ODI will be played on August 7, in which the Indian team will try to end the series on a draw. At the same time, Sri Lanka will hope to win the ODI series against India after 27 years by winning the third ODI. Sri Lanka last won the ODI series against India in 1997. After this defeat, the pressure on the Indian team has increased in the third ODI, while Sri Lanka looks full of confidence. Indian fans hope that Team India will perform strongly in the third ODI and end the series on a draw.

Will Sri Lanka win the series this time after 1997?

Since 1997, the Indian team has dominated the ODI matches between India and Sri Lanka. Both teams have played a total of 75 ODI matches during this period, out of which India has won 53 matches while Sri Lanka has won only 20 matches. Two matches were tied. During this period, India has won many important series and has given many memorable performances against Sri Lanka. The Sri Lankan team won the last ODI series against India in 1997, since then the Indian team has maintained the lead in every series.
