While sharing these pictures, Saira Banu has shared an anecdote related to the film ‘Mughal-e-Azam’ and has also told the story of meeting Dilip Kumar for the first time. Saira Banu has written- ‘When we talk about Mughal-e-Azam, the image of a great historical film emerges in our mind which Mr. K. Asif took years to mold in a thrilling way. For me it is a historical epic. Before ‘Mughal-e-Azam’, no such film was made in which romance was shown so beautifully’.

Saira Banu further wrote, ‘I remember when we came home from abroad to Mumbai, there was tremendous excitement about this film everywhere that finally there will be a chance to see this exciting and wonderful romance between Prince Salim, the son of the king and the most beautiful dancer Anarkali. This was the grandeur of the premiere moments of Mughal-e-Azam. Meanwhile, away from all this grandeur, Saira Banu, crazy about Sahib’s (Dilip Kumar) smartness, was building her dream palace on the sand. I thought this was an opportunity for me to see Sahib and surely he would see me and like me immediately. For this I prepared myself very well.’

Saira Banu wrote at the end of the post, ‘I spent 6 days standing in the sun, oiling and washing my long hair to make my hair and face shine to meet Dilip Kumar. After this, I cut and shaped my long nails and painted them with beautiful nail paint, applied pearl, pink and ruby all kinds of nail polishes that he liked. Saira Banu further wrote that the events that happened to me after my 6-day routine were interesting, I will tell you about it tomorrow.’
