Kathmandu: The recovery of 24 lakh rupees in cash from an airport in Nepal has created a sensation. All the people arrested by Nepal Police in this case are Indians. They were arrested on Thursday. According to the police, five Indians were arrested for carrying lakhs of Nepalese rupees without disclosing any source. Police gave this information. Police said that Prakash Narayan Gupta (44), Ajay Mishra (43), Ashish Gupta (45), Bimal Gupta (46) and Pankaj Jaiswal (39) were arrested during security check at Ranjha Airport in Nepalganj Municipality of western Nepal.
During interrogation, they told the police that they were all Indian citizens and were about to board a flight to Kathmandu. But they were caught before that. Police said that 24 lakh Nepali rupees were recovered from them. During investigation, it was claimed that the arrested people did not have any valid documents. In such a situation, an investigation has been started to find out how and from where did they get so much cash. Investigation is also being done as to where and under what pretext the money was being carried. (Language)
