Big news is coming out regarding Bangladesh’s tour of Pakistan. The two-match Test series between Bangladesh and Pakistan is to start in Rawalpindi from August 21, for which the visiting team Bangladesh will now leave for Pakistan on August 12, 5 days earlier. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had offered to host Bangladesh by providing all the necessary training facilities before the scheduled date in Rawalpindi due to the ongoing violence in Bangladesh.

Earlier, the Bangladesh team was to reach Pakistan’s capital Islamabad on August 17, but now the visiting team will land on August 13. This will be Bangladesh’s first tour of Pakistan since 2020. The PCB has confirmed that the Bangladesh team will train at the Gaddafi Stadium from August 14-16 and then go to Islamabad on August 17, where it will participate in practice sessions at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium from August 18-20. PCB Chief Operating Officer Salman Naseer said, “The game is not only about winning and losing, it is also about brotherhood. I am confident that the additional training sessions in Lahore will provide the players with an opportunity to showcase their best skills and talents on the global stage.”

will reach pakistan on this day

He further added, “We are delighted that the BCB has accepted our offer and we look forward to welcoming the Bangladesh Men’s Cricket Team with our traditional hospitality in Lahore on 13 August. This will give them the opportunity to train and practice for three additional days at one of our prestigious venues before moving to Islamabad.”

In another development, Bangladesh’s foreign coaching staff have opted out of practice sessions in Bangladesh as their respective embassies have imposed travel restrictions on foreign nationals due to the ongoing tension in the country. The foreign coaching staff includes head coach Chandika Hathurusingha, bowling coach Andre Adams, assistant coach Nic Pothas, spin consultant Mushtaq Ahmed, batting coach David Hemp and strength and conditioning coach Nathan Kelly.

“We cannot force them (foreign coaching staff) to attend practice sessions because of their travel restrictions. It is true that many police stations in the city are still not functional, which is a big concern. We are working on taking the team to Pakistan first,” a BCB official told Cricbuzz.
