PM Modi’s big statement after Paris Olympics
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday praised India’s performance at the Paris Olympics 2024. India finished its campaign with six medals at the 33rd Summer Olympic Games in Paris, which is India’s second best performance in Olympic history. Earlier, India had won 7 medals at the Tokyo Olympics. Which also included a gold medal. Prime Minister Modi said that the athletes have made India proud with their performance in Paris and he also wished them all the best for their future.

PM Modi wrote in his post that at the conclusion of the Paris Olympics, I appreciate the efforts of the entire Indian contingent during the games. PM Modi further wrote in his post that all the athletes have given their best and every Indian is proud of them. Best wishes to our sports heroes for their upcoming endeavors. The Indian Prime Minister had shown remarkable support towards Indian athletes. He had encouraged Team India by hosting them at his home before the tournament. He also called all the Indian medal winners to personally congratulate them and appreciated their efforts to make India proud.
Manu Bhaker created history
Meanwhile, India’s challenge ended after young wrestler Ritika Hooda lost in the quarterfinals of the women’s 76kg category on Saturday. India ended its campaign without a gold medal, but impressed everyone by winning six medals including a silver in athletics. Which included five bronze medals. 22-year-old Manu Bhaker opened India’s medal account with a bronze medal in the women’s 10m air pistol event on July 28. She created history with another bronze medal with Sarabjot Singh in the mixed team 10m air pistol event and missed a record third medal after finishing fourth in 25m air shooting.
Neeraj Chopra won another medal
Swapnil Kusale won the bronze medal in the men’s 50m rifle 3 position event to give India its third medal. India faced some disappointments and ups and downs for the next seven days with no medals but ended the campaign on a high note. The men’s hockey team won the bronze medal defeating Spain and gold medallist Neeraj Chopra won the silver medal in the men’s javelin throw event. 21-year-old Aman Sehrawat was the last Indian to win a medal for India, defeating Darian Cruz of Puerto Rico in the men’s 57kg bronze medal match to become the youngest Indian Olympic medallist.
