Jaipur. The rain which has become a death knell in Rajasthan has now started swallowing people. Due to heavy to very heavy rains in Rajasthan on Sunday, more than 25 people were swept away in rivers and dams, while many people became victims of house collapse and other rain-related accidents. Although no official figures of people killed in rain-related accidents have been revealed yet, the death toll can reach up to four dozen. Due to heavy rains, flood-like conditions have occurred in many areas. Orders have been given to keep schools closed in six districts.
Torrential rains have been wreaking havoc in Rajasthan for several days. The rains have created havoc in the entire state. Even today, there is a threat of heavy to very heavy rains in 18 districts. The weather department has issued an alert of very heavy rains in seven districts and heavy rains in 11 districts. Seeing the deteriorating weather and rain conditions in the state, the Bhajan Lal government has come on alert mode. The Chief Secretary held a meeting with senior officials on Sunday, a holiday, and issued instructions to keep an eye on every activity.
