Kolkata. The whole country is echoing with the news of the rape and murder of a female doctor in Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal. Now the CBI has taken over the investigation of this case. On Tuesday, the Calcutta High Court had ordered that the CBI should now investigate the case of rape and murder of a female doctor in Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College. After this, CBI officers arrived on Wednesday morning and took charge of the investigation. The CBI has taken the case diary in its possession and has also arrested Sanjay Rai, the accused of rape and murder of the female doctor. The investigating agency is interrogating him.

A doctor pursuing PG from Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College was raped and murdered on the night of August 8. On August 9, the body of the female doctor was found in the seminar hall of RG Kar Medical College. The postmortem report of the female doctor’s body shows that she was brutally tortured before being murdered. The female doctor’s body was bleeding from her eyes, private parts and other places. Also, her neck bone was found broken. While raping the female doctor, her head was also banged against the wall. The female doctor’s family members say that when they saw the body, she was naked.
The family of the rape and murder victim of the female doctor alleges that initially they were told that their daughter had committed suicide. The family had expressed doubts over the police investigation. Sanjay Rai, who has been arrested on charges of rape and murder of the female doctor in RG Kar Medical College, was a civic volunteer of Kolkata Police. He told the police during interrogation that he had targeted the female doctor at 3 am on the night of 8 August. The way the female doctor was brutalized during the rape, it is suspected that more people are involved in this case.
