New Delhi. Today is Partition Horror Remembrance Day. India was partitioned on 14 August 1947 and Pakistan became a new country. After Pakistan became a separate country, there were massive riots and lakhs of people lost their lives. In this tragedy of partition, many lakhs of people became homeless and came to India as refugees from Pakistan. PM Modi has said on Partition Horrors Memorial Day that it is a day to pay tribute to the courage of those who suffered the pain of partition of India. Who started life again. Modi said that on the occasion of Partition Horrors Memorial Day, we are remembering those who faced its horrors and suffered a lot. Modi said that this day also shows the power of human beings to recover from their courage. Modi also said that many of those who were affected by the partition later achieved immense success. He also reiterated his commitment to always protect the bond of unity and brotherhood in the country on the date of India’s partition.
PM Modi himself had announced in the year 2021 that the government would celebrate Partition Horrors Remembrance Day every year. He had then said that every year 14th August would be celebrated in memory of the struggles and sacrifices of all those who suffered the pain of Partition. Modi had said that the partition of India can never be forgotten. Indians fought a long battle for independence. They kept raising their voice against the ruthless rule of the British for 200 years. The British finally decided to free India, but before leaving, they divided it and created a new country named Pakistan.
