After the rape and murder of a fellow doctor in Kolkata, the anger of doctors is sky high. There is only one voice in hospitals across the country – strike… doctors are leaving their work and demanding justice, security and law. These demands are also justified.. but now look at the other side… parents returning from the hospital for treatment without hanging their sick child on their shoulders, a daughter carrying her old mother groaning in pain with a bottle of water and four dry rotis tied in her bag to the roadside of the hospital for treatment, look into the eyes of that mother returning without getting treatment with her unconscious two and a half month old child hugging her chest while taking deep breaths… there is hardly any answer to this pain and suffering.

After the doctors’ strike, the condition of AIIMS and Safdarjung, which are among the biggest hospitals in Delhi, is equally pathetic. When News18hindi visited them, the scene was shocking. Patients have been lying in the hospital for two days. The OPD rooms are locked. Patients who have come with surgery dates for months are wandering around. After all, no one is telling what these poor patients are being punished for.
Kidneys fail, dialysis stopped…go on strike
Rukhsana wandering for treatment in AIIMS for two days.
Rukhsana, a woman lying on the road near the wall of the pediatric emergency in AIIMS, was moaning in pain. Her daughter Seema, sitting nearby, was helpless and helpless, and was just trying to console her mother that she would be treated, but she told News 18 that they had come to AIIMS on August 12. Rukhsana’s kidneys have failed. She is being treated at AIIMS for the last 8 years. Currently, she has to undergo dialysis and also get herself examined, but when she went there, she was told that there is a strike, go and get herself examined somewhere else. Yesterday she went to RML also, but was turned away from there saying that if she is getting examined at AIIMS, then get herself examined there only. She doesn’t have money for the fare and is lying on the road in AIIMS itself. She is just hoping that if the strike is over, perhaps a doctor will see her.
The patient started crying and said – there is a lot of pain, we are also human beings…

An accident patient groaning in pain at Safdarjung Hospital.
This is the OPD of Ortho in Safdarjung Hospital. Dozens of patients are waiting here. One of them is Govinda, a patient who came from Gurgaon after an accident. He is lying on a stretcher. When asked if he should see a doctor, he said he was lying in the morning. He said a rod has been inserted in his leg, he is in a lot of pain, he has been trying to show it since yesterday, but the doctor is not sitting. We are also human beings, we are also in pain. Why are they doing such injustice to us?
A family is wandering with their two and a half month old child

Ankush Yadav, returning from AIIMS’ cardio-neuro tower without showing his two and a half month old child, said that apart from the hole in the child’s heart, due to mixing of heart veins, clean and bad blood is being received. He was referred from Bareilly. He had to be shown to AIIMS today, the whole family came together but could not get him shown. They are talking about the day after tomorrow, but if the strike does not end, God knows when we will be able to show him. The child is suffering a lot.

Came from so far, now got a date again

Mother and daughter returned from RP Centre AIIMS without treatment.
The problem of mother Nisha, who was roaming around with her daughter in RP Centre AIIMS from Faridabad, could hardly be understood by any doctor who went on strike. The radiological examination of the eyes of the daughter suffering from neurofibroma was to be done but it was not done due to the strike. Ultimately, this mother also returned disappointed.
The patients left these questions..
The patients who returned from hospitals like AIIMS and Safdarjung without treatment due to the strike may or may not return here for treatment, but they have left behind a question that what is the fault of these patients in this fight of doctors for justice? Who is responsible for the pain and suffering of these patients? Is this strike not injustice to these patients?
