PM Modi wearing a multicoloured turban with Lahariya print
Prime Minister Narendra Modi wore a white kurta and churidar pyjama with a multi-coloured lehariya print turban at the 78th Independence Day function held at the Red Fort on Thursday. The Prime Minister led the 78th Independence Day celebrations from the Red Fort on the occasion of the Independence Day anniversary. Prime Minister Modi hoisted the national flag for the 11th consecutive time and addressed the nation from the ramparts of the iconic monument. Modi also wore a sky blue closed neck jacket on the occasion.
Prime Minister Modi has been wearing a colorful turban on every Independence Day since 2014. This time too, he maintained this tradition and wore a saffron, yellow and green colored turban. Modi was seen wearing a multicolored Rajasthani Bandhani print turban with white kurta and churidar pyjama at the ceremony organized at the Red Fort on the occasion of 77th Independence Day.
Last year he wore a three coloured safa
In his 10th Independence Day speech as Prime Minister, Modi wore a black V-neck jacket. His safa had a mix of yellow, green and red colours. He wore a white safa with tricolour stripes on the 76th Independence Day. Wearing a blue jacket over traditional kurta and churidar pyjama and black shoes, the Prime Minister hoisted the national flag from the ramparts of the Red Fort and addressed the nation for the ninth consecutive time.
Wore a saffron turban on 75th Independence Day
Modi wore a striped saffron turban on the 75th Independence Day. Modi wore a saffron and cream colored turban at the ceremony held at the historic Red Fort on the 74th Independence Day. The Prime Minister wore a half-sleeved kurta and churidar pyjama with it. He also wore a white gamchha with saffron border, which he used as a measure to prevent Kovid-19. In his first address from the Red Fort after coming to power for the second consecutive time in the year 2019, the Prime Minister wore a turban made of many colors. This was his sixth consecutive address from the Red Fort.
Jodhpur Bandhej Safa was worn in 2014
When the Prime Minister addressed the nation for the first time from the historic Red Fort in 2014 after assuming charge of the country, he wore a dark red and green Jodhpuri Bandhej turban. In 2015, Prime Minister Modi wore a yellow turban with multi-coloured stripes, while in 2016 he chose a pink and yellow lehriya ‘tie and dye’ turban. He wore a bright red turban with golden stripes in 2017. He wore a saffron turban in 2018.
Leaving Manmohan Singh behind
From the red bandhani safa of Kutch to the yellow Rajasthani safa, Modi’s safas have been attracting people’s attention even during the Republic Day celebrations. Prime Minister Modi hoisted the national flag at the Red Fort for the 11th consecutive time on the occasion of Independence Day today. On Independence Day, with his first address of his third term, he surpassed former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Manmohan Singh had hoisted the tricolor 10 times from the ramparts of the Red Fort during 2004 to 2014. (Input- PTI language)
