In the Union Cabinet meeting held on Friday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, many important projects were approved. Giving information about the decisions, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that the government has approved three new metro projects. Apart from these, 2 new airports, ring road and many infrastructure projects have been approved.
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said, transportation is a big factor in the development of the middle class in cities. Metro as an infrastructure for the middle class in cities has expanded a lot in the last 10 years. While 10 years ago there was metro in 5 cities, today there is metro in 21 cities. In this sequence, today the cabinet has approved three more metro projects. In today’s time people want to travel by planes, people travel more by planes for long distances, in such a situation two new airport facilities have also been approved.
2 corridors of Bengaluru Metro Rail Project Phase-3 have been approved. A ring road will also be built here. Apart from this, the Integral Ring Metro Rail Project in Thane, Maharashtra was approved. It will cost Rs 12,200 crore. The third is the southward extension of the Pune Metro Phase-1 project. It will cost Rs 2,954.53 crore. It is to be operational by 2029.
