Contract But iPhone manufacturer Foxconn’s business in India has crossed $10 billion by 2024. The company’s chairman Young Liu gave this information. According to the company, Foxconn has so far invested $1.4 billion in India. Liu said, “By last year, we have done a business of more than $10 billion. We will do a lot more in the coming year.” He was speaking on Saturday at the inauguration of the company’s women-only residential complex near Foxconn’s plant.

Padma Bhushan awardee Liu said that during his current visit to the country, he met the Chief Ministers of many states and felt that India is moving towards progress. This is Liu’s first visit to India after being awarded the Padma Bhushan, the third highest civilian award, on the eve of the 75th Republic Day this year. Liu started his nearly week-long India visit with a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday. He discussed Foxconn’s investment in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Telangana with the Prime Minister.

Liu also met the chief ministers and state ministers of these three states. The company’s women’s residential complex was inaugurated by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin. During the inauguration, Liu said the company employs employees without any gender bias but women in India, especially married women, have contributed significantly to its efforts. The Foxconn chairman said there is an upward trend in all types of hiring by Taiwan’s leading electronics manufacturing company in India.
