Meteorological department issued alert

According to the Meteorological Department, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar are also on alert, there is a forecast of continuous heavy rains here for the next five to seven days.

According to the department, there may be widespread light to moderate rains in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand till August 20. There is also a possibility of scattered to widespread rains in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Uttar Pradesh, Eastern Rajasthan.

The Meteorological Department said that a low pressure area is forming in the North Bay of Bengal and surrounding areas and it is slowly moving towards the Gangetic region of Bangladesh and West Bengal.
