The havoc of this dangerous disease will increase after the rains! Experts said - take precautions from now

Dengue Fever Prevention: The havoc of diseases caused by mosquitoes increases during the rainy season. The biggest reason for this is water accumulation. When it rains, water accumulates in and around homes. This breeds mosquitoes and increases the risk of diseases like dengue, malaria and chikungunya. According to health experts, the havoc of dengue is most visible after the rains and everyone should try to avoid it from now on. Dengue is a dangerous infection, negligence regarding which can be fatal. Let’s know important things about this from the experts.

Dr. Sonia Rawat, Director of Preventive Health and Wellness Department of Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi, told AnyTV that dengue is a viral infection that spreads among humans through mosquito bites. If a person becomes a victim of dengue, he starts showing symptoms like high fever, headache, body ache, pain in muscles and joints, pain behind the eyes, vomiting and skin rashes. When people get dengue, their platelet count decreases rapidly and in many serious cases bleeding can also occur. If dengue is not treated on time, it can also lead to death.

Why does dengue spread after rain?

Dr. Sonia Rawat said that the havoc of dengue increases after the rain. Actually, due to rain, water accumulates at many places and due to this mosquitoes start breeding. Especially Aedes aegypti mosquitoes lay eggs in water and their larvae develop in water. When these mosquitoes are infected, dengue infection spreads when they bite people. Symptoms of dengue start appearing a few days after mosquito bites. If someone sees symptoms of dengue, then it should be tested. Dengue can be detected through blood test.

What should be done to avoid dengue?

According to experts, to avoid dengue, do not let water accumulate in and around the house and try your best to avoid mosquitoes. Use mosquito nets and apply antimosquito cream while sleeping at night. Along with this, use fertilizers to kill mosquito larvae and maintain cleanliness regularly. Wear full sleeve clothes in this season, so that apart from mosquitoes, you can be protected from rainy insects. If there is any kind of problem, consult a doctor.

What to do if you become a victim of dengue?

Health experts said that if fever occurs due to dengue, then paracetamol tablet can be taken. Apart from reducing fever, this medicine can also provide relief from body pain. Dengue fever can also be reduced by sponging with cold water. Sponging means wiping the body by dipping a handkerchief or any cloth in cold water. However, if the fever does not subside in a day or two, then one should consult a doctor and get it checked. No carelessness should be taken regarding dengue. One more thing should be kept in mind that in case of dengue, do not take any medicine other than paracetamol without consulting a doctor.
