Due to Amavasya falling on Monday, it is also called Somvati Amavasya which is considered best for bathing, charity, worship and penance. On this day, worship and bathing in holy rivers shower the blessings of gods and goddesses. Ancestors are considered to be the deities of Amavasya, hence performing Shradh and Tarpan on this day is also good, but along with this, if some measures are taken on Amavasya day, then one gets relief from Pitradosha and Kaalsarp Dosh, along with this, happiness and prosperity also come in life, so today we are telling you about those measures.
Simple remedies for Somvati Amavasya-
On the new moon day of Bhadrapad month, take a bath in a holy river and worship Lord Shiva in a proper manner. Offer a pair of Naag and Naagin made of silver or copper to Lord Shiva and then flow it in a flowing river. It is believed that by doing this remedy, one gets rid of Kalsarp Dosh and the fear of snakes also ends.
To get rid of Kalsarp Dosh, take a bath in a holy river on Amavasya and anoint Lord Shiva with Gangajal and recite Shiv Chalisa. Doing so is beneficial and Kalsarp Dosh is eliminated. Also, to get rid of Pitra Dosh, do Tarpan and Shradh Karma for ancestors on this day. Doing so frees you from Pitra Dosh and bestows blessings of ancestors.
