2024 Land Rover Discovery Sport: Vehicle manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover is going to introduce a new version of the Discovery SUV in its portfolio. This car, which is the oldest model in the Land Rover lineup, is now far behind the competition in comparison to other cars in the market. The Discovery SUV was introduced for sale in 2017. Apart from this, the Discovery SUV of Jaguar Land Rover’s lineup has proved to be the lowest selling SUV in terms of sales.
According to the sales report of this company, last year in 2023, about 16,750 Discovery cars got customers globally, while JLR has succeeded in selling about 1.10 lakh vehicles by launching its second SUV car Defender. No official information has been revealed yet regarding when JLR’s new Discovery SUV car will be introduced in India. It is being speculated that in 2025 the company can introduce the EV version of the Discovery SUV. After which the updated new Defender can be launched in the global market.

JLR’s new Discovery will be based on the MLA platform included in the current Range Rover, this platform proves to be compatible with petrol, diesel, hybrid and electric powertrains. Like the Defender Octa, a performance variant of this SUV will also be introduced. The sixth generation Discovery can come in petrol, hybrid and electric powertrain options with a changed look. This car can get MPV-like design elements. After which this car will be able to compete with the Volkswagen ID Buzz. JLR has confirmed to launch 6 Land Rover electric cars by 2026, Discovery’s name is also included in this list. Actually, after the Land Rover Defender, there has been a big decline in the sales of Discovery SUV, to increase which a new change is being made.
