Located in the upper Himalayan ranges close to the border of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, the ‘Valley of Flowers’, located at an altitude of 4,500 meters above sea level, attracts both nature lovers and trekkers. It has everything you want in a holiday – mountain peaks, lakes, rivers and valleys. The Valley of Flowers is nestled in the foothills of the Himalayas. It is famous for its multicoloured meadows. It is the highest meadow where more than 500 varieties of flowers bloom from March to November. The valley is located in one of the coldest places on earth and receives very little rainfall. The place was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2002. According to religious beliefs, it is said that Hanuman ji brought Sanjivani booti from here to save Lakshman ji.
