A 47-year-old woman has accused Hindutva activist Arun Kumar Puthila of sexual harassment.
Police filed FIR
Yesterday evening, the woman lodged a complaint against the BJP leader at a police station in Karnataka. The victim told the Dakshina Kannada Women’s Police Station that she was sexually assaulted at Pai Vista Hotel in Bengaluru on June 2023 and this disgusting act was committed by Arun Kumar Puthila. The police have registered a case under sections 417, 354A and 506 of the IPC.
The woman told her ordeal
An FIR was registered at the Dakshina Kannada police station at around 6 pm yesterday. The 47-year-old victim says that on June 1, 2023, she was called to the Pai Vista Hotel in Bengaluru city. In the hotel room, BJP leader Arun Kumar Puthila misbehaved with the victim. Arun Puthila also made photos, selfies and videos of the woman. After this, he started blackmailing the woman using them. A year after the incident, the victim complained about it to the police. The police is investigating the matter.
The election was fought against BJP
Let us tell you that Arun Kumar Puthila’s name was once included among the rebel leaders. He contested against BJP from Puttur assembly seat of Karnataka. But before the Lok Sabha elections 2024, he joined BJP.
