Lucknow, September 3 (IANS) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that as per the expectations of the Indian Football Association, one thousand football grounds will be developed in Uttar Pradesh. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said this on Monday before the football match between Mohan Bagan and East Bengal organized at KD Singh Babu Stadium under the Chief Minister Cup. He was present as the chief guest in the program.
During this, he said that one playground is being built in each of the 57 thousand Gram Panchayats in the state. Apart from this, work is in progress to build one mini stadium in each of the 825 development blocks and one stadium in all the 75 districts. As per the expectations of the Indian Football Association, one thousand football grounds will also be developed in the state.
CM Yogi said that the Football Association has expected to dedicate one stadium each in all districts and 18 divisions for football. Let us tell them that the government also wants sports and sports activities to increase. He said that Uttar Pradesh has always contributed significantly in the sports world. Hockey magician Major Dhyanchand and famous hockey player KD Singh Babu were sons of the soil of Uttar Pradesh. This stadium is also named after KD Singh Babu. Uttar Pradesh has made a significant contribution to the world of football.
Chief Minister Yogi said that the government has given government jobs in different services through direct recruitment to more than 500 players who won medals in Olympics, Commonwealth, Asiad, World Championship etc. The government will continue this in future as well. CM Yogi said that two players of the Indian hockey team from Uttar Pradesh have performed brilliantly in the Paris Olympics. One of them, Lalit Kumar Upadhyay, has already been appointed as Deputy SP in UP Police last year. Now hockey player Raj Kumar Pal is also going to be given direct appointment as Deputy SP in UP Police.
