Dehradun, September 4 (IANS). The Madrasa Board has now taken a tough stand against illegal madrasas in Uttarakhand. Madrasa Board President Mufti Shamoon Qasmi said on Wednesday that madrasas where children’s rights are violated will be closed.
Illegal madrasas in the state are constantly in the news and now the Madrasa Board has planned to take action against them. Recently, the team of the State Child Commission in Dehradun conducted a surprise inspection of a madrasa located in Azad Colony. During this inspection, it was found that the madrasa was not registered and the children were kept there as is.
Mufti Shamoon Qasmi clarified that all madrassas where children’s rights are violated will be considered illegal, whether they are registered or not. He said that if irregularities are found in any madrassa, they will have to work according to the Constitution and law. Mufti Qasmi gave information about 416 registered madrassas in the state and estimated that there would be almost the same number of unregistered madrassas.
He stressed that this is the first time the state government is working without any discrimination. There is neither any religious discrimination in this government nor any prejudice towards any particular community. The government aims to provide equal opportunities to all citizens, including distribution of grains, Ayushman schemes, and all the necessary facilities from kutcha houses to pucca houses. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, NCERT syllabus has been incorporated so that all children from poor to rich can get education.
Mufti Shamoon Qasmi said that if any irregularities are found in any madrasa, it will be blacklisted and strict action will be taken against it. This step has been taken to protect the rights of children and ensure the quality of education.
