Bajaj Ethanol Bike: Bajaj created a stir by launching a CNG-powered bike as an eco-friendly green energy option, while now this company is going to launch its bike equipped with ethanol engine as a biofuel option. This two-wheeler manufacturer Bajaj has recently introduced the ethanol-powered Pulsar NS160 bike at the India Bio-Energy and Tech Expo 2024, raising the possibility of a new fuel option. This is a motorcycle powered by a flex-fuel fuel option.
Bajaj Pulsar E100 Powertrain
No information has been revealed yet about the powertrain of the bike that is going to be offered with Bajaj Pulsar Ethanol Eshan option. It is expected that its base engine hardware can be similar to the current Bajaj Pulsar NS160. This bike has an oil-cooled, single cylinder engine option. The engine included in the new Pulsar bike is capable of generating 17.2hp of power and 14.6Nm of torque in the model that supports E20 fuel 20 percent ethanol mixed petrol. Bajaj’s upcoming E100 bike is expected to run on 100 percent ethanol as well as ethanol mixed petrol in different proportions, just its output figures may definitely differ.
What does Bajaj’s Managing Director Rajiv Bajaj say?
Regarding the launch of Bajaj Pulsar bike equipped with flex fuel engine, Bajaj Managing Director Rajiv Bajaj had confirmed that the ethanol-powered bike could be launched by March 2025. Bajaj sells E27 compliant bikes in Brazil, that is, bikes equipped with petrol fuel option mixed with up to 27 percent ethanol, while now this is the first time in the world of flex fuel, when Bajaj is going to launch E100 percent ethanol-powered motorcycle in the market.
On the other hand, for some time now, the central government has also been encouraging companies to promote vehicles running on E80/E100 ethanol. This is the reason why now TVS Motor is also developing this technology in its vehicles to introduce ethanol bikes. This company has also introduced the Apache RTR 200 Fi E100 bike a few years ago.
