English newspaper New Indian Express has made many sensational claims quoting sources about former principal of RG Kar Medical College Sandeep Ghosh, who is embroiled in corruption cases besides rape and murder of a doctor in Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal. The newspaper has reported quoting sources from CBI that Sandeep Ghosh indulged in massive corruption in RG Kar Medical College. The newspaper has written that Sandeep Ghosh used to take commission for getting medical students passed. This commission was divided among several doctors. Apart from this, the newspaper claims about Sandeep Ghosh that he used to take 40 percent commission for transfer and posting. At the same time, Sandeep Ghosh has challenged the order of Calcutta High Court to give the task of investigating corruption cases to CBI in the Supreme Court. Sandeep Ghosh says that his side was not heard by the Calcutta High Court. Now Sandeep Ghosh’s petition is to be heard in the Supreme Court on Friday.
The newspaper has informed quoting CBI sources that Sandeep Ghosh used to take 20 to 30 percent commission for passing the tender. According to CBI sources, Sandeep Ghosh had also changed the rules related to tenders. Many vendors are also involved in this racket. CBI has also arrested Suman Hazra and Biplab Singho, who run a medicine shop with Sandeep Ghosh. New Indian Express has reported quoting CBI sources that the investigating agency has also identified Dr. Abhik Ghosh in the transfer and posting case. Abhik Ghosh is in North Bengal Medical College. According to the newspaper, CBI is searching for many more doctors associated with the racket.
A doctor was raped and murdered in Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College on the intervening night of August 8 and 9. In this case, Kolkata Police arrested its civic volunteer Sanjay Rai.
