Anti-terrorism expert and founder of the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI), Yigal Carmon, published an article titled ‘Signs of a possible war in September-October’ on August 31 last year. This article was one of the few warnings that correctly predicted the attack. Yigal Carmon wrote in August last year, ‘Recently there have been indications that a war against Israel could break out in September or October this year. An attack on Israel could trigger a war, which could result in the death of many people. Israel’s regular anti-terrorism measures will not be enough.’

Yigal Carmon said, ‘Although Hamas or Hezbollah are not interested in starting a major war with Israel, the situation can get out of control due to a confrontation. Unusually lethal weapons can be used.’ In his analysis, Carmon warned that even though Hamas and Hezbollah do not want a major war, the situation can easily turn into a major conflict.
