Ganesh Chaturthi Vastu Rules for Lord Ganesha Idol: Ganesh Chaturthi festival is on 07 September 2024, Saturday. Ganeshotsav is celebrated for 10 days and concludes on the day of Anant Chaturdashi. On the day of Ganesh Chaturthi, people bring and install the idol or statue of Bappa in their homes with great pomp. If you are also going to bring Ganesha home on Ganesh Chaturthi, then know these Vastu rules-
Keep these things in mind while buying the idol of Ganesh Ji-
1. Choose the right idol- While buying the idol of Lord Ganesha on Ganesh Chaturthi, keep in mind the direction of Ganpati Bappa’s trunk. According to Vastu Shastra, the idol of Ganpati Bappa with the trunk bent towards the left should be placed at home. It is believed that it helps in bringing happiness in life.
2. In which direction should Ganpati Bappa be installed- According to Vastu Shastra, it is considered auspicious to place the idol of Lord Ganesha in the west, north or north-east direction. Lord Shiva lives in the north direction, so it is considered best that your Ganesha idol should also be facing this direction. Place the idol of Lord Ganesha in such a way that its face is towards the entrance of your house. Ganesha idol should not be placed in the south direction.
3. Mouse- If you are bringing an idol of Ganesh Ji on Ganesh Chaturthi and it does not have a mouse, then you can bring a mouse from the market and place it near the idol. According to Vastu Shastra, Lord Ganesha loves mouse very much. Therefore, it is considered auspicious to have a mouse near his idol or statue.
4. Auspicious time: The idol of Lord Ganesha should be placed at home only during the auspicious time.
5. Bring the idol with your face hidden- While bringing the idol of Lord Ganesha home, keep his face covered with a clean red cloth. According to Vastu Shastra, after installing the idol of Ganesha, the cloth should be removed from his face.
