Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Friday fiercely attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party. Targeting the Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh, he said, ‘The way bulldozers are run on the houses and shops of Muslims in UP every day, the day before yesterday the Supreme Court took cognizance of it and said that it is illegal. The way mosques and madrasas are being locked in Uttar Pradesh, those facts are not hidden from us. Every time Muslims are being defamed on the orders of the BJP.’
JKNC vice-president Omar Abdullah addressed the people in Ganderbal. He said, ‘Whenever BJP is in power in Karnataka, our mothers and sisters are asked to remove the hijab to go to school and university. We have to save Jammu and Kashmir from forces that want to create a similar situation here.’ Earlier on Thursday, he had challenged BJP leader Ram Madhav to present evidence that the National Conference is taking support from surrendered terrorists. Abdullah said this in response to Ram Madhav’s allegations, in which it was claimed that former terrorists are openly campaigning for the National Conference and the People’s Democratic Party.
Politics heated up over bulldozer action
In fact, on Monday, the Supreme Court had said on the bulldozer action that it would set guidelines on this issue which would be applicable across the country. The court said, ‘How can someone’s house be demolished just because he is an accused. Even if he is guilty, this cannot be done without following the procedure prescribed by the law.’ On this, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday described his government’s bulldozer action as courageous. Regarding this, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav challenged him that if he has so much faith in his vision, then he should contest the election on the bulldozer election symbol. This was the comment that led to a heated argument between Adityanath and Akhilesh Yadav. The CM compared Akhilesh Yadav and his uncle Shivpal Singh Yadav to wolves.
