Sultanpur, September 8 (IANS). Accused Mangesh Yadav was recently killed in an encounter in Sultanpur, UP. Akhilesh Yadav raised questions on the encounter. Since then, political turmoil has been going on. Meanwhile, on Sunday, Yogi government minister Sanjay Nishad defended his government on this matter.
Talking to reporters, Sanjay Nishad said that on 7 June 2015, during the rail agitation in Gorakhpur, one of my brothers, Akhilesh Nishad, was shot and killed. At that time, the SP government was in power. Was the police not a predator in killing Nishad’s son? He said that I was also made an accused under section 302. If it were not for my society, I would have been rotting in jail.
He said that our government works on the policy of zero tolerance. Today the accused is in the lead and the police is running behind him. In the previous governments, criminals used to chase the police, but today there is a fear-free environment. The police is chasing the criminals. If the criminal does something to the police, then the police will also do something for their own safety.
Attacking Akhilesh Yadav, he said that if everything was right during his time, then why did the public remove him from power. Our system is right, the public is Janardan, the public is the judge. The public takes the decision and our government is taking decisions for the interests of the public.
He said that the opposition has nothing left except rhetoric. The opposition should mention the work done so that the public is happy with them and gives them another chance in politics. They did not do any work and the public removed them.
Let us tell you that Mangesh Yadav died after being shot in a police encounter on 5 September in Sultanpur. After the encounter of Mangesh Yadav, political upheaval is in full swing in the state. Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav had called this encounter wrong and alleged that the encounter was done after looking at the caste of the criminal. The district administration has ordered a magisterial inquiry into this encounter.
