Indian security forces have foiled an attempt of terrorist infiltration on the midnight of Sunday-Monday (8-9 September) in Nowshera sector of Rajouri district on the Line of Control (LoC) adjacent to Pakistan. During the encounter, the security forces have killed two terrorists who had infiltrated from Pakistan. According to the White Knight Corps of the Indian Army, the encounter with the terrorists is still going on. Many other terrorists are suspected to be hiding in the area, who are being searched.
There is intelligence input that terrorists are planning to carry out a major incident during the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir. Due to this, Indian security forces have increased their activity on the border with Pakistan. Intelligence agencies and Jammu and Kashmir Police (J&K Police) alerted the Indian Army about an infiltration attempt on the LoC in the Lam area of Naushera sector of Rajouri. Based on this alert, the Indian Army started heavy patrolling in this area. On the midnight of Sunday-Monday, some terrorists tried to infiltrate across the border, which was foiled by the Indian security forces. Firing was done by the terrorists. Two terrorists have been killed in retaliatory firing.
According to the White Knight Corps, a large amount of ammunition has been recovered from the possession of the two terrorists killed in the anti-infiltration operation. There is a possibility that their other comrades are also hiding in the area. Due to this, the operation is still going on. Efforts are also being made to find out for whom these two terrorists were carrying so much ammunition.
