MP News English: Rain continues in many districts of Madhya Pradesh. Rivers have overflowed after rain in many districts of MP. It is a matter of concern that after the rain, eight people including an SAF and a doctor have died a painful death by drowning.
Police have recovered the bodies after rescue. Eight people, including a Special Armed Force (SAF) jawan and a doctor, drowned in separate incidents in Vidisha, Sehore and Khandwa districts of Madhya Pradesh. Officials gave this information on Monday.
Five people drowned in various ghat areas of Betwa river in Vidisha district, while a doctor drowned in Digambar waterfall in Sehore district, while two girls drowned in Agni river in Khandwa district, officials said.
It was told that these incidents happened on Sunday and some bodies were recovered on Monday morning. Shahganj police station in-charge Pankaj Wadekar said that Ashwin Krishnan Iyer (28), a doctor at a private hospital in Bhopal, drowned while bathing in Digambar waterfall on Sunday.
He said that the State Disaster Emergency Response Force (SDERF) retrieved the body of the doctor on Monday morning after a 17-hour search operation. Sub-divisional police officer Shashank Gurjar said that Iyer had gone to the waterfall with a friend for a picnic and the security personnel posted there had stopped them from bathing in the waterfall.
After this, both of them descended into the waterfall from another route. Five people drowned at various ghats of Betwa river in Vidisha and three bodies were recovered on Monday morning. These incidents took place at Bangla, Rangai and Barri ghats, officials said.
SDERF commandant Rashmi Dubey said Sandeep (26) and constable Harendra Chauhan (30) of the 23rd battalion of the SAF drowned on Sunday evening. Dubey said the SDERF has also recovered the bodies of Ankit Ahirwar (18) and Krishna Ahirwar (19) who drowned at Rangai Ghat on Sunday.
In another incident, Raghvendra Chauhan (24) fell into the river while crossing the Barri Ghat bridge on a motorcycle with his sister on Sunday, he said. Villagers rescued Chauhan’s sister, but he was swept away and his body was recovered in the morning, the official said.
Superintendent of Police Manoj Rai said that two 18-year-old girls drowned on Sunday while taking a dip in the Agni river under Ashapura police station in Khandwa. He said that with the help of local people, the police have recovered the bodies of Jyoti and Shivani.
Alert on rain in Madhya Pradesh weather forecast
A big update has come in the weather forecast of Madhya Pradesh. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert on rain. According to the weather forecast, an alert has been issued on heavy rain in four districts including Mandla and Balaghat.
Rain will continue continuously in many cities of MP for the next two to three days. Light to moderate rain may occur in MP capital Bhopal, Panna, Morena, Indore, Burhanpur, Seoni, Ujjain etc. districts for the next two days.
