The Meteorological Department has also predicted heavy to very heavy rains in these areas for the next few days.
According to the Meteorological Department, due to the formation of a low pressure area in the Bay of Bengal, heavy to very heavy rains may occur in the Gangetic areas of West Bengal, Jharkhand and Odisha till Sunday. According to the Meteorological Department, due to this low pressure area, there are chances of heavy rains in the southern areas of Chhattisgarh as well. At the same time, there will be very heavy rains in all the states of the Northeast including Assam, Sikkim, Madhya Pradesh, UP, Uttarakhand, Gujarat and central areas of Maharashtra. A low pressure area has also formed over UP. In such a situation, people are facing heavy rains there and in the neighboring state of Uttarakhand as well.
Due to heavy rains in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, traffic is closed on more than 400 roads. Efforts are on to open them. The Meteorological Department has predicted that the rain will continue across the country till the first week of October. Snowfall is also being seen in the high altitude areas of Himachal Pradesh amidst the rain. According to the Meteorological Department, this year is also going to be very cold.
