A case of rape of a minor girl has come to light in Nagda of Ujjain district in Madhya Pradesh. It is alleged that a young man from a particular community befriended the minor on Instagram by hiding his real identity and then raped her by luring her with marriage. When the girl came to know the truth and distanced herself from the accused, the accused started intimidating and threatening the victim. After which, the troubled minor told her family about him.
The minor victim says that the lover befriended me by telling me that he was a Hindu and then forcibly did wrong things with me by showing dreams of marriage. When the victim’s family came to know about this, they reached the police station and registered a case against the accused. Seeing the seriousness of the case, Superintendent of Police Pradeep Sharma formed a team and arrested the accused who did immoral things with the minor victim within 24 hours.
While telling about her acquaintance and conversation with the accused, the victim told the police that about 4 months ago she had gone to Omkareshwar with her family. During this time, she met a boy named Raj Thakur there and became friends with him. Then he asked me for my Instagram ID and I gave it to him. After which we started talking.
Then Raj told me that he loves me and did wrong things with me on the pretext of marriage. After this, he threatened to kill me if I tell anyone about this. Meanwhile, I came to know that his name is not Raj but something else and he is a Muslim, now he is pressurizing me for marriage. I have complained about this at the police station on Thursday.
The victim said that ‘Aashiq told me his name was Raj Thakur and that he was a Hindu, due to which I started talking to him. Then Aashiq called me to Indore promising marriage and I fell for his words and went to Indore by bus without telling anyone at home. Aashiq came to Sarwate bus stand to pick me up, then he took me to a deserted place on his motorcycle and did wrong things (rape) with me against my will.’
The victim further said, ‘I even told Raj that we will do all this after marriage but he did not agree and forced himself on me. Then when my family called, my lover left me outside my house and went away. And he threatened me that if I tell anyone about Indore, I will kill you. He was pressurizing me to marry him.’
On the complaint of the complainant, the Nagda Police Station registered a case against the accused under Crime No. 416/24 for committing immoral acts without consent, criminal threats, compelling for marriage (BNS) and under the serious sections of the POCSO Act and took the matter under investigation.
Additional Superintendent of Police, Nitesh Bhargava, said that the accused changed his name and surname and deceived the girl into marrying him and committed an immoral act, after which, on the report of the victim, a case has been registered against the accused under the sections of the POCSO Act and investigation has been taken up.
Taking the incident seriously, Superintendent of Police Pradeep Sharma constituted a team to arrest the accused and arrested the accused Mohammad Aashiq, son of Tahir Hussain, aged 22 years, resident of Chandni Pura, Barwah, District Khargone.
