Jammu, September 14 (IANS). Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday targeted opposition parties while addressing a huge public gathering in Doda, Jammu and Kashmir. On this, Congress party’s national spokesperson Dolly Sharma gave her reaction while talking to IANS.
Dolly Sharma said that she does not know which new Jammu and Kashmir PM Modi is talking about. Recently two soldiers were martyred and two were injured here. Terrorism has now started spreading in Jammu, which had never happened in history. Perhaps, this is what PM Modi is calling the new Jammu and Kashmir.
The Congress spokesperson quipped, those who have taken away statehood are now talking about giving statehood. They have brought Jammu and Kashmir to the second position in unemployment in the entire country. Women are the most unemployed here, a contract system has been introduced. There is a lot of corruption in every major department here.
He said, PM Modi’s visit does not make any difference here. The alliance of Congress and National Conference is strong in Jammu and Kashmir. We have been raising the issues of the people continuously and will continue to do so in future.
The Congress leader said that the topic of discussion in Jammu and Kashmir right now should be development, employment and work on the interests of women. The assembly elections should be held on the issues of Jammu and Kashmir and the elections should not be fought by lying to the public.
The BJP government had said that terrorism will end after demonetisation and removal of Article 370, but nothing like that happened. Terrorist attacks are happening continuously in Jammu and Kashmir. These people were not even holding elections here, but elections are being held here due to the decision of the Supreme Court. The upcoming results will tell what the people of Jammu and Kashmir want.
Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a public meeting on Saturday. During this, he fiercely targeted the Congress, National Conference and People’s Democratic Party. He also cornered the parties on the issue of nepotism.
