Business News Desk, India is called an agricultural country. But farmers here usually grow crops only twice a year. Among which Kharif and Rabi season crops are prominent. Most of the farmers harvest the Rabi season crop and leave the fields vacant for 3 to 4 months. In such a situation, if farmers want, they can earn good profits by cultivating moong at low cost in the summer season. This can increase the income of farmers. Along with this, the field can also be made fertile for other crops. Moong is anyway considered beneficial for health. It contains a large amount of nutrients. Which includes nutrients like flavonoids, phenolic acids, organic acids, amino acids, carbohydrates and lipids. Apart from this, antioxidant, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, antidiabetic, antihypertensive and antitumor properties are found in moong. It keeps many diseases away.
Select good quality moong
Ram Ishwar Prasad, scientist of Krishi Vigyan Kendra Sitamadhi, said that there are many improved varieties of moong. Which includes Virat, IPM 0203, Samrat, SML 668. This will give better production to the farmers. At present, India has not yet become self-sufficient in the field of pulses. Therefore, there is a need to increase the area of pulses. The fertility of the land increases with the cultivation of moong. The reason for this is that rhizobium bacteria are found in the root nodules of pulse crops like moong. This helps in increasing the fertility of the field.
When to sow moong
According to scientist Ram Ishwar Prasad, there should not be any kind of weed in the field while sowing moong. This gives good yield of moong. Moong cultivation should be started as soon as summer starts. Its sowing can be done from 15 April to 15 June. The cost is very low and farmers can earn huge profits.
