Himachal Pradesh BJP spokesperson Chetan Singh Bragta on Sunday lodged an FIR at the Kotkhai police station against the social media account ‘@TeamSaath’ for an objectionable post that described artists performing traditional ‘Nati’ dance during the ‘Jagra’ festival as terrorists, a BJP leader said on Sunday.
State BJP spokesperson Chetan Singh Bragta, who filed the complaint, said- The objectionable posts released on social media accounts are unacceptable, in which the artists of traditional ‘Nati’ dance during the ‘Jagra’ festival have been termed as terrorists. I have lodged an FIR in the concerned police station. I have urged for strict legal action against those responsible for this disgusting act.
Chetan Singh Bragta said- Such irresponsible and divisive acts will not be tolerated on social media platforms. Such objectionable posts have deeply hurt the religious sentiments of the people of Himachal Pradesh. Through this, an attempt has been made to create discord in the society. It is important to maintain the sanctity of our cultural practices.
He said that we will continue to take strict action against any objectionable act. Linking these cultural expressions with terrorism is an insult. This act has deeply hurt millions of people of the state. Let us tell you that the traditional ‘Nati’ dance performed during the ‘Jagra’ festival is also known as ‘Dev Nritya’.
