Former CM Virbhadra Singh’s son and Public Works and Urban Development Minister Vikramaditya Singh has praised PM Modi for speaking in English language abroad.
Vikramaditya Singh said in a program organized on the occasion of English Diwas on Saturday that we all should be proud of the English language. He said that today English language has got a different identity in the world and India is known as a strong country in the world today. He was addressing the state level English Diwas function organized by the Department of Language and Culture at the historic Gaiety Theater in Shimla.
Vikramaditya Singh said that now the time has come that we should get out of the English language and use the English language as much as possible. He said that the Prime Minister also uses his mother tongue in his address in different countries due to which our country has got a different identity. He said that the G-20 Summit was organized in Delhi in which different countries participated and our country has got recognition as a strong country.
Vikramaditya Singh said, ‘I am happy that the Indian government is trying to promote English at the global level. It is a matter of great happiness when the Prime Minister of India goes to America and communicates on behalf of India in the White House, he does so in English. This is a matter of pride for us.’ Vikramaditya Singh said that even after so many years of independence, we have not been able to get out of the slave mentality, if someone speaks English incorrectly, he does not feel ashamed, but if he speaks English incorrectly, he feels ashamed.
