Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to flag off more than a dozen Vande Bharat trains, including the country’s first ‘Vande Metro’, while participating in various programs in Jharkhand, Gujarat and Odisha between September 15 and 17. With the introduction of these new trains, traveling to different parts of the country will become even easier.
Vande Metro: A new beginning from Ahmedabad to Bhuj
The Ahmedabad-Bhuj Vande Metro is the country’s first Vande Metro train. This train is completely unreserved and air-conditioned. Passengers will be able to buy tickets from the ticket counter shortly before the train’s departure. The train has a seating capacity of 1,150 passengers and a standing capacity of 2,058 passengers. This service has started from Monday, making travel between two important cities of Gujarat more convenient. Most importantly, its fare will be nominal for the passengers.
New Vande Bharat trains: Good news for passengers
The Prime Minister flagged off the Tatanagar-Patna (via Bokaro, Koderma) Vande Bharat train directly from the Tatanagar Railway Junction. Apart from this, he also flagged off five other Vande Bharat trains through video conferencing:
Bhagalpur-Howrah (via Dumka) Brahmapur-Tatanagar Gaya-Howrah Baidyanath Dham-Varanasi (via Gaya, Nawada, Sasaram) Rourkela-Howrah
With the introduction of these trains, connectivity between various pilgrimage and tourist destinations will improve.
Inauguration of new railway projects in Jharkhand
The Prime Minister laid the foundation stone and inaugurated various railway projects worth over Rs 660 crore in Jharkhand. The foundation stone of Madhupur Bypass Line and Hazaribagh Town Coaching Depot was laid. The Madhupur Bypass Line will reduce delays of trains on the Howrah-Delhi main line and reduce travel time between Giridih and Jasidih. Modi also dedicated four Road Under Bridges (RUBs) to the nation.
Vande Bharat trains: Pilgrimage and tourism will get a boost
The new Vande Bharat trains will improve rail connectivity between pilgrimage and tourist destinations. This will promote pilgrimage and tourism. The journey of rail passengers will be easy and time-saving.
New Delhi-Varanasi Vande Bharat now has 20 coaches
The Vande Bharat train running between New Delhi and Varanasi now has 20 coaches. This will facilitate more passengers to travel and reduce congestion.
