PM Modi flagged off Vande Metro
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today flagged off the country’s first Vande Metro from Bhuj to Ahmedabad. Vande Metro has also been named Namo Bharat Rapid Rail. PM Modi has also flagged off several Vande Bharat trains today. On Monday, the first 20 coach Vande Bharat trains were launched from Nagpur to Secunderabad, Kolhapur to Pune, Agra Cantt to Varanasi, Durg to Visakhapatnam, Pune to Hubli and Varanasi to Delhi.
Celebrating development
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also addressed the people. PM Modi said, ‘Everyone is celebrating Ganesh Utsav. Milad un-Nabi is also being celebrated today. Many festivals are being celebrated across the country. In this period of celebration, the celebration of development is also going on. Today the foundation stone of many development projects worth more than Rs 8,000 crore has been laid here. Today Namo Bharat Rapid Rail has also been inaugurated.’
At the same time, PM Modi inaugurated the second phase of Ahmedabad Metro Rail Extension on Monday. The second phase of the metro rail network has been developed by Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) in collaboration with the Government of Gujarat and the Central Government.
PM Modi took a metro ride
After the inauguration, the Prime Minister, accompanied by Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat and Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, took a metro ride from Section 1 Metro Station to GIFT City Metro Station.
PM also inaugurated these projects
Prime Minister Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of several development projects worth more than Rs 8,000 crore in Ahmedabad. During this, PM Modi also laid the foundation stone of many major projects. This includes quadrupling of Samakhiali-Gandhidham and Gandhidham-Adipur railway lines, development of roads in AMC, Ahmedabad. Also includes construction of flyover bridges at Hathijan, Ramol and Panjarpol junction.
Thermal power station inaugurated
PM Modi inaugurated a 30 MW solar system and a 35 MW BESS solar PV project at Kutch Lignite Thermal Power Station, Kutch and 220 kV substations in Morbi and Rajkot. The Prime Minister also launched the Single Window IT System (SWITS) of the International Financial Services Centre Authority. It has been designed to streamline financial services.
First installment of PM housing released
PM Modi approved more than 30,000 houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin. Released the first installment for these houses. Also launched the construction of houses under the PMAY scheme. He also handed over to the beneficiaries of the houses completed by the state under both urban and rural segments of PMAY.
