According to Vastu Shastra, keeping broken glass in the house is considered inauspicious. It increases domestic troubles. There are quarrels in the house every day. In such a case, broken glass should be thrown out of the house immediately. Besides this, keeping broken utensils in the house is also not considered good. This takes away the peace and happiness of the house and one has to face poverty. Apart from this, one has to struggle a lot for money. According to Vastu, old diyas should also not be kept in the house. It is considered inauspicious. In such a situation, before Diwali, throw out the old diyas from the house and bring new ones home.
