Combs, 54, was cooperating with the investigation after his legal team issued a statement saying they were disappointed by the decision to prosecute him, The New York Times reported.
He arrived in New York voluntarily last week. The statement said Sean is a music icon, self-made entrepreneur, loving family man and philanthropist.
He built an empire over the last 30 years, loved his children, and worked to uplift the black community.
US Attorney Damian Williams of the Southern District of New York released a statement on social media late Monday night. In the statement, it is hoped that the indictment will be unveiled in the morning and he will have a lot more to say.
