The company made the young girl work so much that she died, her mother got furious with the boss

A 26-year-old woman died in Pune, Maharashtra. She was a chartered accountant by profession. Now the woman’s family alleges that their daughter died due to excessive workload. In this regard, her mother has written a letter to the head of the company in India and expressed strong displeasure. She also claims that no one from the office attended the funeral of the daughter. However, it is not clear yet what is the reason behind the death of the woman.

According to a News18 report, 26-year-old Ana Sebastian Pirayil, who worked in the Pune branch of EY, one of the Big 4 accounting firms, died. She was from Kerala. In this regard, Ana’s mother Anita Augustine has written a letter to the company’s head in India, Rajiv Memani. She has condemned the company for exaggerating the workload. She has also told how her daughter was always under a workload after joining the company. Ana had joined the company in March 2024.

According to the report, the mother says that since it was her first job, Ana worked tirelessly to fulfil the company’s expectations, but this affected her physical, mental and emotional health. She says, ‘Soon after joining, she started facing problems like anxiety, insomnia, stress, but she kept working. She believed that hard work is the way to success.’

The girl’s mother also claims that many employees have resigned due to the workload. According to the report, she said, ‘Her manager would often reschedule meetings during cricket matches and assign work at the end of the day, which increased the stress. During an office party, a senior even joked that she was facing difficulties working with her manager, which unfortunately turned out to be true.’

She also mentioned an incident where Ana’s boss assigned a task at night that had to be completed by the morning. According to the report, Augustine said, ‘Her assistant manager called at night and assigned work that had to be completed by the next morning. This left her with no time to recover or rest. When she expressed her concern, the response was that you can work at night, this is what we all do.’

Tell me about your daughter

According to the report, Augustine said, “Ana would return to her room very tired. At times she would fall on the bed without changing her clothes, where she would get messages for more reports. She was trying her best to meet the deadlines. She knew how to fight and did not give up easily. We asked her to quit the job, but she wanted to learn and have new experiences. However, the pressure proved to be too much for her.”

what was the cause of death

However, the cause of Ana’s death is not clear yet. According to the report, the email states that a few weeks before her death, she complained of chest discomfort. Augustine said, ‘We took her to the hospital in Pune. Her ECG was normal. The cardiologist allayed our fears and told us that she was not getting enough sleep and was eating late. He gave some antacids, which reassured us that there was nothing serious.’ Ana died on July 20.
