Rafi-ud-Daulat or Rafi-ud-Daulat or Shah Jahan II (English: Rafi-ud-Daulat, born June 1696; died September 19, 1719, Fatehpur Sikri) was the 11th emperor of the famous Mughal dynasty in Indian history. He was the emperor of the Mughal Empire from June 1719 to September 1719 (4 months) only.
After the death of Rafiuddarajat, the Sayyid brothers, who adopted the policy of interference in the Mughal Empire, placed Rafiuddaula on the throne of the Mughal dynasty in Delhi.
After ascending the throne, Rafi-ud-Daula assumed the titles of ‘Shahjahan Shani’, ‘Shahjahan II’.
He was the second shortest-ruling Mughal emperor.
Like his brother Rafiuddarajat, Rafiuddaula also remained a puppet in the hands of Syed brothers. Within a short period of time, Syed brothers dethroned him as well.
Just as Rafiuddarajat died of tuberculosis, he also died of dysentery. While some historians believe that he was murdered.
