Some time ago, the Ahmedabad Railway Police had arrested a thief who stole goods from a train. This accused had identified himself as Major Harshit Chaudhary. But after the investigation began, the truth about this person started coming out one by one.
The Railway Police was investigating the theft of the bag from the Vande Bharat train. At that time, they saw a man carrying this bag in the CCTV. The police caught this man and started investigation.
During investigation, the police found out that the real name of this person is Mohammad Shahbaz and he is a resident of Aligarh in Uttar Pradesh. Shahbaz joined the Army in 2015 and was expelled in June 2024 due to being unfit. After this, he also got an Aadhaar card, PAN card and a fake ID card of a Major made in the name of Harshit Chaudhary.
Trapping girls through dating app
At the same time, on September 8, a girl from Jharkhand also lodged a complaint at Banna Devi Police Station in Aligarh that she came in contact with Shahbaz through Shaadi.com. Shahbaz told her his name was Harshit Chaudhary and said that he is a Major in the Army. After this, Shahbaz called the girl to Aligarh on March 5, 2023 and married her according to Hindu rituals. He rented a house in Aligarh and kept her there and also had physical relations with her by threatening her.
Shahbaz’s real and fake documents
Further investigation revealed that Shahbaz deceived 14 girls by introducing himself as an army jawan through different dating apps apart from shaadi.com. He trapped Hindu girls in his love trap in different parts of the country including Jammu-Kashmir, Siliguri, Gujarat, Mumbai, Delhi, Aligarh and made physical relations with them and also extorted lakhs of rupees. Whenever he used to go to meet the family of the victim girl, he used to take his fake sister along with him.
Father is a retired army officer, brother is in Air Force
Shahbaz is already married. He got married to a Muslim girl in 2016 and has two children. Shahbaz’s father is a retired army officer and his brother is in the Air Force.
Worked in army canteen
After joining the army, Shahbaz did many such things which are prohibited in the army, for which he has been punished many times. After his such acts, he was expelled from the army on medical grounds. During his job, he used to work in the army canteen, due to which he knew everything about the ranks and badges of the army. Taking advantage of this, he not only made fake documents for the post of Major, but also got a uniform stitched to strengthen his fake identity, which he used to wear to trap girls.
He also opened a bank account with fake documents claiming to be Harshit Chaudhary of Bharatpur, Rajasthan. Transactions worth Rs 50 lakh have also been made from this account. The truth about Shahbaz that came out during investigation makes the police feel that he may also be involved in love jihad. At present, the police is investigating the matter.
