Karnal, September 20 (IANS). Congress leader and MP Rahul Gandhi reached Ghoghardipur village in Haryana’s Karnal district on Friday morning. Here he met the family members of the youth who was injured in America.
Actually, Amit, a resident of Ghoghardipur village, lives in America and was injured in an accident there. During his US tour, Rahul Gandhi also met that boy. After that, today Rahul Gandhi reached Amit’s village to meet his family. Currently, Amit is admitted in a hospital in America after the accident.
During the meeting, Rahul Gandhi consoled the family. In fact, when Rahul Gandhi met Amit in America, he had promised that he would definitely meet his family. In this connection, Rahul Gandhi met Amit’s mother Birmati and father Bir Singh. Amit is a truck driver in America and he was a victim of a road accident.
During this time, Rahul Gandhi also talked to Amit on video calling and enquired about his health. Rahul Gandhi also spent more than an hour with Amit’s family. The interesting thing is that Amit’s family packed desi ghee and churma for Rahul Gandhi.
Rahul Gandhi’s sudden visit created panic in the police administration. The local Congress leaders were unaware of Rahul Gandhi’s visit. After getting the information, the local leaders reached to meet Rahul Gandhi but by then Rahul Gandhi’s convoy had left.
Actually, the election campaign of the Congress party is going on on a large scale in the Haryana assembly elections. Congress has made seven promises in its manifesto. The biggest election promise of Congress is about the half population of the state i.e. women. The party has announced to give Rs 2,000 every month to women aged 18 to 60 years and Rs 500 for domestic gas cylinder.
A promise has also been made to provide pension of Rs 6,000 per month to the elderly, disabled people and widows.
