Both got married in the year 2000 and got divorced in the year 2017. Farhan and Adhuna have two daughters Shakya and Akira. After Adhuna, Farhan married actress Shibani Dandekar. Farhan has a very good bonding with both his daughters. They are often seen together on many occasions. But recently Farhan has told that he feels very guilty for both his daughters Shakya and Akira, the reason for which is his and Adhuna’s divorce.
Riya questions Farhan about divorce
Farhan Akhtar recently appeared on Rhea Chakraborty’s ‘Podcast Chapter 2’. During this, Rhea asked Farhan many personal questions, which the actor answered without any hesitation. In the new episode of the podcast, Rhea Chakraborty asked Farhan Akhtar how the divorce of his parents Javed Akhtar and his first wife Honey Irani (Farhan’s mother) affected him. She then linked it to how his daughters Shakya and Akira handled his separation from their mother Adhuna and whether it was difficult for them.
The daughters were somewhat angry
On Rhea Chakraborty’s question, Farhan said, ‘It must not have been easy for Shakya and Akira, as they believed that their relationship with Adhuna was ‘strong and right’ and later ‘broke’. The actor admitted that both his daughters had some anger and resentment about the divorce and why did it happen?’ Farhan also said that with the passage of time they will be consoled.
I felt very guilty towards them
The Don 3 director said, ‘When Adhuna and I got divorced, I felt very guilty towards them (my two daughters) because it had nothing to do with them. So it is going to hurt them emotionally.’ Farhan’s wife Shibani Dandekar also accompanied him in this podcast of Riya.
