BJP leader Babita Phogat, who is campaigning for the Haryana assembly elections, has reacted sharply against her cousin Vinesh Phogat. Let us tell you that Vinesh is contesting from Julana assembly seat on a Congress ticket in the Haryana Assembly Elections 2024. Recently, Vinesh had commented on the BJP regarding the Congress election symbol ‘hand’. Vinesh said, “This time the Congress’s hand will be like a slap on the BJP. A befitting reply will be given on October 5.”
Babita called this statement of Vinesh a narrow-minded statement and advised her to think before using such words. She said, “We should consider our words; we should reflect on them.” Earlier, Dronacharya Award winner Mahavir Singh Phogat, who was a wrestling coach, expressed displeasure over Vinesh contesting the elections. Vinesh’s uncle Mahavir Phogat blamed the Congress and said that Vinesh has been tricked into joining politics. He directly blamed former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupendra Hooda and his MP son Deepender Hooda for this. Mahavir Phogat said, “There were expectations from Vinesh that she would bring a medal for India in the next Olympics. But she has been forcibly pushed into the elections.”
As the elections are nearing, Babita is also actively engaging with BJP workers. Talking to the news agency, she said that senior BJP leaders are guiding the workers to connect with the public and showcase the achievements of the government. Babita expressed confidence that the BJP will win for the third time in Haryana. She also explained the importance of motivating the workers. She said, “The party’s job is to encourage the workers and fill them with enthusiasm. Our respected Biplab Dev ji has given us the mantra of victory.”
Vinesh Phogat, while criticising the BJP government during the election campaign, said, “We have to take revenge for unemployment and humiliation in the last 10 years.” Vinesh played a prominent role in the protests against BJP leader Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh last year and joined the Congress party on September 6. She is pitted against BJP candidate Captain Yogesh Bairagi in Julana.
