Chlorine Gas Leak: Chlorine gas leaked from a soda factory in Shahdol district of Madhya Pradesh and reached homes in residential areas. Many people are said to be affected by this.

There was panic among the people due to leakage of chlorine gas from a soda factory in Shahdol district of Madhya Pradesh on Saturday evening. The incident took place on the Shahdol-Anuppur border. About 60 to 70 people have been affected due to the leakage of chlorine gas. Chlorine gas reached the homes of nearby residents due to which people’s health deteriorated. The affected people complained of vomiting and cough. As soon as the information was received, the administration became active and arranged ambulances to take the affected people to the hospital.
The condition of two people is said to be critical due to gas leakage. They have been sent to the district hospital Anuppur in the company’s ambulance. People told that gas is always blown out from the soda factory, but on Saturday the gas leaked due to which such a situation arose. The gas leakage incident took place in Bargwa area at around 8 pm on Saturday. Due to the gas leakage, people started having irritation in their eyes and difficulty in breathing.
After the accident, people were taken to the dispensary located at the soda factory but there was no doctor present there. The Municipal Council President said that this is a daily problem but the management does not pay attention to it. Compounder HD Shukla gave primary treatment to the people. There were only two beds in the hospital. The condition of two people named Arun Vishwakarma and Vishwanath Kahar is said to be critical due to the leakage of chlorine gas.
Anuppur Deputy Collector Dilip Pandey said that the gas leak caused problems to the employees and people in the nearby area. Due to lack of facilities in the factory dispensary, they were sent to Anuppur by ambulance. The reason for the leakage of chlorine gas is not known. The officer said that the incident will be investigated. The affected people are being referred to Anuppur District Hospital after giving them primary treatment.
According to a PTI-language report, Anuppur District Magistrate Harshal Pancholi said that a gas leak was detected at the factory in Amalai at around 8 pm. The factory management immediately stopped the leak. The District Magistrate wrote in his post on ‘X’, a team of the district administration reached the spot and 12 people were admitted to Shahdol Medical College Hospital. The condition of all is stable. The administration is keeping an eye on the situation.
